    Yes I agree it is strange, but it was based on a crossing keepers box which only had a few levers at the opposite end to the door. I think it might have been rebuilt or adapted at some time in the past.

  6. That's a very strange signal box. I've worked seven and visited dozens more and never once come across one where the door was on the same side as the lever frame. The frame usually extends to, and indeed determines, the overall length of the box.
